Why this role exists
Vertis Health is seeking an experienced and motivated experienced ADOS-2 clinician to join our Adult Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Assessment Service. In this role, you will undertake specialist face-to-face ADOS-2 Module 4 assessments for adults referred to our autism diagnostic pathway across Worcestershire.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with a Clinical Psychologist or Registered Mental Health Nurse who will complete the developmental history and wider clinical assessment. Together, you will contribute to comprehensive diagnostic formulations and provide high-quality, person-centred assessment experiences for adults seeking diagnostic clarity.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a clinically led service that places quality, compassion and continuous improvement at the heart of care delivery.
About the Service
The Adult ASD service is one of four Mental Health & Neurodevelopmental Services offered by Vertis Health:
Adult ADHD – assessment and ongoing clinical reviews, with medication titration delivered under appropriate prescribing governance and shared care with GPs where agreed.
Adult ASD – diagnostic assessment pathway delivered through an MDT model.
Children and Young People (CYP) ADHD – an assessment and diagnosis pathway (with onward treatment and medication pathways subject to commissioning and wider system arrangements).
Children and Young People (CYP) ASD – a diagnostic assessment pathway delivered through a multidisciplinary model, aligned to national guidance and local commissioning arrangements.
This post forms part of Vertis Health’s Multidisciplinary Adult ASD diagnostic pathway.
The ADOS-2 assessor will work alongside a clinician undertaking the developmental history and wider clinical assessment. Diagnostic decisions will be reached collaboratively through multidisciplinary discussion, integrating developmental history, clinical information, available collateral evidence and direct observational findings.
The role requires a clinician who is confident working autonomously within their professional competence while also valuing collaborative diagnostic decision-making and clear clinical governance.
